In the smaller releases this week we have two and a half men dvd box set Archipelago, a film I saw at the London Film Festival. Not an amazing flick but I dug it, there is a dinner scene which is absolutely hysterical and all the performances are very strong. A very quiet film, but I’d recommend it if you like a quieter film.
Next up is one of my contenders for criminal minds season 5 dvd worst film of the year Age of the Dragons. You get what you’d expect with this retelling of Moby Dick with dragons, if you want you can read my full review here. If you can find it, don’t see it.
Two docs out, we have Babies which The Starter Wife Season 1 DVD Box Set looks at 4 babies lives, not heard great things about this and it doesn’t appeal to me really. More interesting is Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer, you may remember Mr. Spitzer as the naughty New York governor who got caught with his trousers down… with a prostitute. I don’t know why but this story captured my imagination and I was really interested, definitely enough to watch the doc, I’ll be searching for this one.

Empire Presents… BIG SCREEN is going to be a major date on the movie calendar, and will take over The O2′s Indigo2, Cineworld csi las vegas season 1 complex, London Piazza and Live Quarter. It’s going to be, in other words, pretty mega. We’ll see you there! In the meantime, if you have any questions just post them in the forum below and we’ll do our best to explain everything…
Sounds like a lot of fun right? Well now you can Pre-Register your tickets to find out if you really want to go, just visit the site and the vampire diaries season 2 dvd go on from there. Hopefully see you in August.
After yesterdays brief bit of American chat I though we’d head on to some classic Brit news. Today I bring you something I didn’t think I’d ever be interested in, a Danny Dyer movie. Age of Heroes is the new film from director Adrian Vitoria (The Crew) starring Sean Bean and Danny Dyer.
What really interests me about this flick is that it is the story of Ian Flemming, the man who you might know as the creator The Defenders Season 1 DVD Box Set of James Bond and writer of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Freaking awesome right? James D’Arcy plays Flemming and as a big Flemming fan and moderate fan of D’Arcy my interest is peaked. The film is out on 20/05/11 with the DVD and Blu-Ray hitting our shelves on 13/06/11. I can’t believe I’m saying this about a movie that features Danny Dyer, but this actually looks like one to watch for.

Another week and another crop of movies for me to dissect. Not a shabby looking week though, as we start off with the new Matt Project Runway Season 9 Damon sci-fi thriller The Adjustment Bureau. Damon stars as a politician who falls for a young ballerina (Emily Blunt) but supernatural forces are fighting to keep them apart. The film is based on a Phillip K. Dick novel and being a fan of Dick (lets just get that joke out of the way) I’m greatly anticipating this to be one of the early surprises The Office (US) Season 8 of the year, I’m seeing it tonight and will probably have a review by tomorrow. Here’s the cool looking trailer after the jump.
Next up is the interesting animated flick Rango from director Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and The Weatherman). The film follows a Hawaiian shirt wearing chameleon voiced by Mad Men Seasons 1-4 DVD Box set Johnny Depp who ends up becoming a sheriff in a lawless town. This film looks absolutely bizarre, but that might not be a good thing, it might be a little too out there for its own good but the Wild West element might help ground the movie. It has peaked my interest and I might try and check it out this weekend. Here is the trailer, you know, for kids.

Now we come to what I like to refer to as “My Sword is the Best” but is probably better known as Ironclad. Here we have a traffic light season 1 medieval action movie starring James Purefoy as the leader of Knights Templar defending a castle against the evil King John portrayed by Paul Giamatti… yeah, that Paul Giamatti. We got to see some clips from this at Empire’s Movie-Con III and it definitely looked pretty damn fun, though it definitely has the potential to become incredibly generic.
I might check this out if it comes to the how i met your mother season dvd cheap cinemas. Spot if you can see the giant sword in the trailer. Will somebody tell Julie Taymor that she is the Zack Snyder of the art film world. Her films are boring, over the top and filled with heavy handed messages but they kind of look nice I guess. This week she inflicts her latest film upon us, The Tempest, an adaptation of the Shakespeare play, but with the lead characters gender being changed to female. I honestly am not interested at all despite being a big Helen Mirren fan and a mild Russell Brand fan. If you are still interested you can see the trailer here.
Cinemas most unlikely action star Hayao Miyazaki Movies Collection DVD Box Set returns to the big screen this week with Unknown. Liam Neeson stars as a man whose identity is stolen after a car crash, now he kicks up a fuss about it and some evil people try to kill him. This looks like it might be fun but honestly I’m pretty sure it is going to take itself far too seriously when it is obviously a schlocky B-movie. I might check it out on DVD. Here’s the trailer that I think will be far more entertaining than the actual movie.

We will be announcing in the next issue of the magazine (on sale March 3) and online that for a ¡ê10 upfront commitment you will be able to be the first to see the schedule when it is published in May. At that point you hayao miyazaki box set dvd can either be the first to buy a ticket (with that ¡ê10 knocked off) or receive a refund. We don’t think you’ll be disappointed: it’s going to be everything you loved about Movie-Con with a whole lot more. And hey! As a lot of seasons are starting to draw to a close, now’s a great time to have a nice look back on the 2010/11 series that have come Modern Family Season 3 out of the States. I don’t watch everything, I’m only human after all, so don’t be disappointed if your favourite show isn’t featured!
In terms of drama, CSI had (pardon me) a killer series, in some respects, particularly with notable guest star Justin Bieber. I don’t like to hear hating on the Biebs, he’s hardly the best actor but he’s only 17 so give him Make It or Break It Season 1 a break, and he’s a pretty good sport for going out the way he did! But for me the whole series has been brewing up to what I hope will be another spectacular finale, one hopes with a final showdown between Nate Haskell and Dr. Ray (Bill Irwin, Lawrence Fishburne) a la Hotch vs. The Reaper (Thomas Gibson, C. Thomas Howell) in Criminal Minds.
Speaking of, a very strange season, with two cast members leaving, though I just saw on IMDb that A.J. Cook will return as a Trauma Season 1 DVD Box Set series regular next season, and Paget Brewster also, which seems a little pointless to me, very little follow-through on the part of the writers. The show itself is still enjoyable, but seems all over the place, an interesting opportunity opened up with the possibility of Dr. Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) inheriting his mother’s schizophrenia, but as a season it’s been patchy and strange, maybe time to wrap things up?

Grey’s Anatomy has been another interesting season, not lacking in the drama the show is famed for, following the beyond-tense shooting in the previous season’s shocking finale. It was questionable whether or not the being human season 3 day-to-day drama would keep up, given Dr. McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) are finally together, for good, it seems. But it has certainly not been lacking, there have been tears a-plenty. Particular standout performances from this season have been Kevin McKidd as Dr.
Owen Hunt, and the tension and Project Runway Season 9 not-quite love triangle between Callie, Arizona and Mark (Sara Ramirez, Jessica Capshaw, Eric Dane) has created a lot of interest. The much-anticipated musical episode was nowhere near as bad as I’d expected, though was by no means good… I don’t like to say ‘jumped the shark’ but .. well I guess I just did.
To comedy! The Office bids farewell to Glee Complete Season 1-2 DVD Box Set Steve Carell at the end of the season. I’ve been a long term fan of the show and I won’t deny how much I’m going to miss him, and I would love to be positive about it and say it can continue without him but in truth I don’t want it to. I just dislike the American idea that seems to be ‘let’s continue until we get cancelled.’ In truth, no matter how much I like the show, it should’ve ended a while ago, and this seems like a good opportunity to stop.4F39500149264DE474AA8FA4C67379D1
